There is a woman in the Philipines named Cynthia Sycip, who has a knitting blog.

I stumbled onto it while doing a google search for Starsky Sweater.

I started reading her blog with interest, and then my interest turned to anger.

She has publicly insulted me on her blog, for unknown reasons. Something about

insulting David Soul, which to my knowledge, I have never done.  I did reply to

her accusations on her blog, which she erased.  Also, some person named

"Mary Jane" claims to have knitted several movie sweaters in 2004, and has

the Warner pay slips to prove it.  Well, she should post the images as proof.

She calls my sweaters "cheep" (I think she meant cheap) imitations, which they

are not, see the owner's page for pics, and I asked her to post the insults that I made

against David Soul, which she claims to have erased. She never did produce my

so-called insults, so, I can only surmise that this lady is extremely angry at life.

Her comments towards me below:

Unimpressed with Ian. 100% 4 months ago

Ian R.,

Been to your site several times, and even though I am an accomplished knitter in my own right,
I actually considered buying one of your overpriced cheep imitation didn't get the pattern right sweaters....

Exact copy my ass! Anyone with eyes can tell there are several things wrong with the pattern on your sweater!

Since your rude, unnecessary and totally uncalled for comments above about David Soul, you won't get my business.
And I will tell everyone I told about your site to check out the comment you just made on this site.
I'm sure EVERY ONE of them will decide not to order from you now.

How dare you! How fucking dare you make those comments about Mr. Soul!
Who the Hell do you think you are?! Your nothing more than a cocky SOB!

You really think you are the only one who can make a Starsky Sweater,
or rather whoever you got making them for you?

Think again, I now have a pattern of my own that a good friend
(who is a better knitter than I am) made from pictures of PMG wearing it,
and am currently working on it right now. AND WE GOT THE PATTERN RIGHT!

And you know what, I plan on supplying the pattern to anyone who wants/asks
me for it free of charge. I'm not a greedy SOB like you! Speaking for myself,
I'd rather spend $500 dollars on yarn and countless hours of knitting to make one myself,
then spend one dollar on one of yours. And I'm sure more people
will feel the same way once they see what you so rudely said on this site.

My reply to her that was deleted:

Firstly, I do not know who you are. I have never been to this anonymous blog site of yours. Secondly, I have never made any negative remarks against David Soul. As a matter of fact, he signed my Torino! Thirdly, the sweaters I sell are far from "cheep" as you wrote. The spelling is "cheap". They are first quality hand knitted 100% natural wool with great size consistency. In North America, I have been quoted between 300 and 400 dollars to make one! They weigh 5 pounds, so do the math: how many 4 ounce balls of 5 or 6 ply wool would it take to make a sweater for $145 shipping included to the US? I would never been done. The lady above who claims to have knitted the movie sweaters, well, if we believe it takes 80 hours to do, say at the poor rate of $10/hour, that's 800 DOLLARS just in labor! And who would work for $10/hour these days. Oh, and I do not post on Paul Glaser's blog, on the contrary, I communicate with him directly - and he also signed my car. He is a terrific fellow and very creative. If you have a beewith me, email me directly. I'm positive that someone out there in cyberspace has posted negative comments here in my name, and has really angered you. You should have contacted me directly as my email address is public on my website. But I have to tell you, that since 2004, and the hundreds of sweaters that have been sold over my site, profits (what little there is) going to Autism research - my son is Autistic, complaints have been maybe 10, mostly due to people's own errors in measurements. I'm sorry you go thru your life being so mad. If you want to spend $500 on making your own sweater, go ahead. I'd love to see the result. Funny, though, you say you could not find the pattern any where - I have the original pattern from th 70's from a European company. I don't understand it, as I am not a knitter. Why not contact the lady who did the 6 movie sweaters? She would have the pattern. Just one observation though: In the scene where Stiller and Wilson leave Venice Place, and get shot at in the street near the Torino, we see Stiller wearing his sweater and toque hat. The pattern on the sleeve is way too low as compared to the pattern on the chest - someone got it wrong, but it passed for the movie. I will go the extra step here and post my email address for anyone with questions: va2ir at securenet dot net

If you still have the negative comments that I allegedly made towards you, please post them here or to my email for all to read.

After all, you are accusing me of something here in public, with no proof at all to your followers and readers, which is not right. And since you are anonymous, it would take alot to find out who you are and where you are to take action against you, which is not my style. I am not vindictive, nor would I post such comments as you did above, against anyone, unless they cheated me in some way, or stole from me, which I have never done to anyone. What you have done above is slandered me in public with no proof. And this is wrong.
